Season Finale Run – Sunday 26th September 2010
Roseland Peninsula to St Mawes Castle
Written by: Tristan Barratt
What a turn out! We had a good 10 cars for our final run of the season, no doubt boosted by a great year for new members joining – and great to see some young blood joining the ranks too.
Starting from Chiverton Services, we headed out towards Truro, then cut across towards Playing Place and headed down to the King Harry Ferry. While waiting for the ferry, a group of Scouts were having a charity windscreen washing event. We were quite amused by their vocalised concern that we were all paying them NOT to wash our screens!
Once safely across the river, we continued down to St Mawes Castle and parked up in their car park. Lunch was consumed and pleasantries exchanged. Noone wanted to go into the castle itself, so once ready, we headed down towards St Mawes itself and drew a great many admiring glances from the people wandering round the town.
A return journey up the Roseland Peninsula made for a great run to end the 2010 season.
